Manhattan in 1899 is glamorous. Luxe is the tale of two girls and their passage into womanhood during the late 1800’s. Elizabeth and Diana Holland, sisters, have two totally different personalities. Both girls are seeking for love in the age of diner parties and horse drawn carriages. A time where men courted women and family names stated your worth in the world. One sister finds her love in a stable boy and most decide if defying social order is worth hassle. The other sister is struggling to find a spot for herself in the Elite Class while maintaining a good family name. Godberson does a great job at creating a visual of the 1800’s as well as developing real characters that people in current days can relate to even though their lives are set in two different historical times.
