This is probably one of the most well-written books that I have ever read, and that fact that is was written by a  16 year old is even more impressive. I would recommend it for middle school and up, mainly because it can be a bit battle graphic at times and some of the vocabulary is advanced.

This book is jammed packed with action, love, and humor. Prepare yourself for an adventure unlike any other. Eragon is a 15 year old boy who lives in the land of Alagaesia in the town of Carvahall. Eragon lives on a poor farm with his uncle and cousin. In the town of Carvahall the storyteller, Brom, speaks of the old days where Dragon Riders ruled. These were just things of the past until, while out hunting, Eragon comes across a large bluestone in the forest. Thinking he is about to become very rich, takes it home with him. When the blue stone hatches revealing a dragon, Eragon has no choice but to take upon the legend of the Riders. Eragon must battle against King Galbatorix and his allies if he hopes to live and save Alagaesia. Thus begins the journey of a young man to save to land he loves and become the man he was born to be.
