The underground city was made to last only 200 years. Time is up, and the lights are starting to flicker. Lina finds the box that holds the instructions on how to get out, but her little sister gets hold of them and makes them unreadable. Doon, the boy Lina traded jobs with, helps her decode the instructions. Can they figure out the instructions in time to save the people of ember or will they all be trapped in the dark forever?
