Astrid has gone back to New York, her roommate is losing her powers, and they are no closer to finding the remedy- the cure for all illness. Gordia Pharmaceuticals, for all its troubles in the past, seems like the perfect solution for Astrid. The talented unicorn hunter is offered a job as a prison guard for a herd of unicorns where killing is not part of the job description. How could she say no?
